All kinds of fascinating scenarios, like the need for oil to power warships and how the Middle East suddenly became important. (read 2009)

I personally read the below Michener novels and found them addictive in their storytelling while providing accurate and highly fascinating information and at the same time examining the underlying forces. I wish I had the time to read more, although I have read some twice.
